About the Artist
From sketching in the margins of her notebooks in school, to attending numerous painting, drawing and pottery classes, to designing custom jewelry for family and friends, Melissa has been both finding and creating art in every corner of life for as long as she can remember. While working as a communications executive to pay the bills, she began selling her jewelry at trunk shows in boutiques across Massachusetts and Maine.
Her paintings, as with every aspect of her life, are always done with a bit of humor and quirkiness. A mix of whimsy and darkness with a sprinkle of sarcasm, she hopes each of her mixed media pieces tells the viewer a meaningful story, makes them smile, or at least evokes a “what the…?”
Melissa’s jewelry features semi-precious stones and antique crystal and glass beads. Her pieces are designed for anyone looking for something a little different - something you can’t find just anywhere. Mixed and matched, layered or just worn singularly, Melissa’s jewelry is uniquely hers.
Melissa lives on a pond in Winchester, Mass and beyond collecting artwork (and as some say “creepy fairground antiques”) her life is filled with music and being an “Auntie” to her amazing nephew.
